Man Arrested for Aggravated Cruelty to Animals

From the Grand Junction Police Department:

On 10/07/24, at approximately 10:00 a.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department received an anonymous tip and videos of animal abuse occurring in the 2900 block of HWY 50. In the videos received, officers observed obvious signs of animal cruelty to a puppy over a period of approximately two weeks. An arrest warrant was issued for the suspect in this incident and officers contacted the suspect, identified as Ryan Kieckhaefer (age 23), on the evening of 10/07/24 and took him into custody. Kieckhaefer was arrested and taken to the Mesa County Detention Facility where he is being charged with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals.

The Grand Junction Police Department believes this to be an isolated incident with no danger to the public. There is no additional information available at this time.
