This is an update to our original article: Vehicle in River, Las Colonias, Riverside Pkwy
From the Grand Junction Police Department:
Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to reports of a truck in the river located in the area of the Las Colonias boat ramp on 10/05/24, at approximately 8:50 p.m. Reporting parties stated a male driver intentionally drove a truck into the river and then exited the vehicle and climbed onto the south riverbank. Dispatchers with the Grand Junction Regional Communications Center received a report shortly after from a person claiming to have seen a video of his stolen truck in the river. Personnel with the Grand Junction Police Department and Search and Rescue worked to recover the vehicle on 10/06/24.
First responders do not believe there were any outstanding occupants in the vehicle, at this time. The Grand Junction Police Department has not yet located the driver and are investigating this incident.
