Brush fire reported on the Utah Colorado border by the “Leaving Colorado” sign on I-70. Fire is currently spreading north of the interstate. A fire helicopter out of Moab has been dispatched to the scene. NIFC is reporting that the fire is 40 acres.
Update 5:36pm: Evacuations are in progress for the 300 Block of Old US Highway 6 & 50, per radio traffic. The fire is 500 acres, per WildCAD.
Update: 9:45pm: The Upper Colorado River Interagency Fire Management Unitย received more accurate mapping from the BLM and the fire has been updated to 1,505 acres. Crews will continue working the fire throughout the night and provide updates if conditions change or worsen.
