Online Predator Operation Results in 5 Arrests in Mesa County

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Homeland Security Investigations, conducted an operation in April aimed at suspects who possess Child Sex Assault Materials (CSAM). The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served several search warrants at local residences investigating possession of sexually explicit materials involving minors. 

Arrest warrants were served on the suspects on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, and five individuals were arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility.

Nico Apodaca, age 34, of Grand Junction

  • (3) counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child- Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material, a class 5 felony.
  • (2) counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child – Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material – Extraordinary Risk – Under Twelve Years of Age; a class 5 felony.
  • Bond# 2024-00006147 – (CASH) CASH: $100000

Daniel Jarvis, age 28, of Grand Junction

  • (1) count of Sexual Exploitation of a Child – Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material – Extraordinary Risk-Intrusion/penetration; a class 4 felony.
  • (2) counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child – Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material – Extraordinary Risk Under Twelve Years of Age; Intrusion/penetration; a class 4 felony.
  • Bond# 2024-00006152 – (CASH) CASH: $100000

River Kincaid, age 24, of Grand Junction

  • (8) counts of Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material – Extraordinary Risk -Under Twelve Years of Age, a class 5 felony.
  • Bond# 2024-00006201 – (CASH) CASH: $100000

Austin Pierce, age 26, of Grand Junction

  • (3) counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child – Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material – Extraordinary Risk – Under Twelve Years of Age; a class 4 felony.

Anthony Svaldi, age 47, of Loma

  • (3) counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child – Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material (videos) – Extraordinary Risk – Under Twelve Years of Age; Subjected to the Actual Application of Physical Force; a class 4 felony.
  • (3) counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child – Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material – Extraordinary Risk – Under Twelve Years of Age; Subjected to the Actual Application of Physical Force; a class 5 felony.
  • Bond# 2024-00006148 – (CASH) CASH: $100000
