Update: Morning Motorcycle Crash on North Avenue

The crash happened around 7:30am Thursday morning at the intersection of 28 Rd and North Ave. White motorcycle was struck by another vehicle, which then fled the scene. Motorcycle driver was treated for minor injuries.

From the Grand Junction Police Department:

On August 22, 2024, at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded the intersection of 28 Road and North Avenue for a hit and run crash involving a motorcycle. The female motorcycle rider was transported to the hospital by the Grand Junction Fire Department with possible serious bodily injury.  The other vehicle involved did not stop or remain on scene.

The officers are looking for the suspect vehicle described as a purple or burgundy passenger style vehicle. If anyone has information about this incident, they are asked to contact non-emergency dispatch at 970-242-6707. Reference GJPD case number 24-41837.

With construction occurring in various locations around town, the Grand Junction Police Department urges people slow down and use care while traveling.
