Arrest Made in North Avenue Motorcycle Hit-and-Run

From the Grand Junction Police Department:

On August 22, 2024, at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to the intersection of 28 Road and North Avenue for a hit and run crash involving a low-powered scooter. The female rider was transported to the hospital by the Grand Junction Fire Department and was determined to have bodily injury. The other vehicle involved did not stop or remain on scene. This has been an ongoing investigation.  

On August 27, 2024, officers identified Timothy Groshek, 67, as the driver of the run vehicle. Timothy was arrested and released on a summons on the following charges:

  • Failed to Remain and/or Give Aid in an Accident Involving Injury
  • Failed to Notify Police of Accident

The female low-power scooter rider was also cited for Driving Without a Valid License and Careless Driving.

The Grand Junction Police Department thanks all citizens that provided information that assisted in solving the investigation.
