Flavio Meraz-Morquecho, 50, arrested for stabbing two victims at Applewood Mobile Home Park on 31 1/2 Rd in Clifton.

From the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:

On September 2, 2024, at 12:10 a.m., Deputies with the Mesa County Sheriffโ€™s Office were dispatched to the 500 block of 31 ยฝ Road in Clifton for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, Deputies found the two victims in stable condition with visible stab wounds. Both victims were transported to the hospital for treatment.

Deputies quickly contained the scene and located the suspect based on witness information. The suspect, Flavio Meraz-Morquecho, was questioned by investigators and taken into custody at 12:25 a.m.

Following the arrest, Deputies processed the scene for evidence and canvassed the neighborhood for further information. The weapon used in the stabbing incident cannot be confirmed at this time.ย 

Flavio Meraz-Morquecho has been booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Menacingย – Real/Simulated Weapon – Two (2) Counts – class 5 Felony
  • Assault 1st Degree – Intent to Cause Serious Bodily Injury with a Deadly Weapon – class 3 Felony
  • Assault 2nd Degree – Reckless with Serious Bodily Injury with a Deadly Weapon – class 3 Felony
