On October 26, 2024, at approximately 9:25 p.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to Dairy Queen, 709 North Avenue, for a report of a possible robbery. After arriving on scene, officers discovered a male broke into the freezer, stole items, and confronted an employee with a knife. The suspect then left in a red Jeep Cherokee. There were no injuries.
On October 26, 2024, at approximately 11:20 p.m., officers stopped a red Jeep Cherokee matching the description of the robbery vehicle in the area of North Avenue and 10th Street. The male passenger was arrested on unrelated warrants. The suspect is still outstanding at this time.
The initial investigation has determined that this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public at this time. The investigation is still ongoing and there is no further information at this time.
