A thief attempted to use a stolen vehicle to break into the drive-up ATM at Grand Valley Bank in Palisade. The incident started around 1:15 a.m. with Palisade Police police receiving a burglar alarm from the ATM called in by the bank’s the alarm company. Palisade police noticed a vehicle at the machine and radioed for backup from the Mesa County Sheriff. The suspect(s) quickly fled the area when police arrived leaving what appears to be a stolen truck with a “punched” ignition at the scene.

Police searched the surrounding area for several hours. Radio traffic did not indicate that any suspects were located.

From the Palisade Police Department:

Early this morning, 10/30/24, an attempt was made to steal an ATM from Grand Valley Bank Palisade, 600 West Eighth Street. The suspects used a stolen truck to attempt to commit the crime. The attempted theft happened between 12:45 am and 1:15 am.

We are asking the public in the area to please check home security cameras to see if a 4-door Ford F250, maroon and black in color with a silver toolbox passed by. We still have at least two suspects at large. The vehicle is still on scene, so the suspects possibly fled on foot.
