Evan Gault, 22 arrested by Grand Junction Police

From the Grand Junction Police Department:
On November 12, 2024, at approximately 6 p.m., officers from the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a possible stabbing in progress in the 2600 block of Unaweep Avenue. Upon arrival, officers learned that an altercation between two adult males occurred when one of the males grabbed a knife and threatened the other male with it. Both males sustained minor injuries during the altercation, and the suspect was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated by medical personnel. After being cleared by the hospital, the suspect, identified as Evan Gault (age 22), was arrested and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Criminal Attempt to Commit 2nd Degree Murder
- Menacing with a Real/Simulated Weapon
- Violation of a Protection Order
- Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
The Grand Junction Police Department believes this is an isolated incident with no ongoing danger to the public. This incident remains under investigation and there is no further information available at this time.
