Caller reporting that a vehicle possibly shot at an individual sitting on a park bench near 25 Road on Patterson Road. No victim(s) were found in the area of the park bench, and no one appears to be injured. Suspect vehicle continued traveling westbound to the Goodwill parking lot. There are 4 occupants in the suspect vehicle. Police are attempting to contact suspects that are inside the Goodwill store. Mesa Valley Community School was placed on a shelter-in-place due to this police activity in the area.

Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of possible shots fired in the area of 25 Road and Patterson Road on 12/13/24, at approximately 1:55 p.m. The reporting party stated occupants of a vehicle traveling northbound possibly fired a gun in the direction of a person on a bench at the GVT West Transfer Facility located at 612 24 1/2 Road. Officers quickly located the vehicle at Goodwill, 630 24 1/2 Road, and contacted four juveniles involved in the incident. Officers discovered the juveniles fired cap-guns out of the car window and towards the GVT building. There were no injuries in this incident. The juveniles were detained and released to their parents after questioning. There were no charges filed in this incident.
The Grand Junction Police Department would like to remind parents to talk to their children about the dangers of weapons, real or simulated. This is believed to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public. There is no further information available at this time.
