Vehicle accident with a black SUV leaving the roadway at the Horizon Drive and N 12th Street roundabout. The SUV was the run vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash at N 12th St and Bookcliff Avenue a few minutes earlier. Police on scene reporting the driver may be suffering from mental heath issues. The driver of the vehicle hit near Bookcliff Ave is being treated for a minor injuries.

Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to reports of a hit and run in the area of N 12th Street and Bookcliff Avenue at approximately 9:45 a.m. on 12/18/24. Reporting parties stated a black SUV was driving erratically and crashed into two vehicles before continuing northbound on N 12th Street.
An occupant of one of the struck vehicles was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. A short time later, officers received a report that a vehicle traveled through a roundabout located at N 12th Street and Horizon Drive and crashed into a ravine. Officers quickly arrived on scene and found a black SUV, matching the vehicle involved in the hit and run minutes before, in a ravine located at the northwest corner of N 12th Street and Horizon Drive.
The driver was taken into custody by the Grand Junction Police Department and transported to the hospital by the Grand Junction Fire Department with minor injuries. Upon release from the hospital, Brenda Jordan (age 57) was arrested and released on a summons for DUI and Careless Driving. There is no further information available at this time.
