Fire in the attached garage of a residence on Meadow Road near D 3/4 Road and 31 1/4 Road. Smoke can be seen coming from the home and one individual is attempting to put out the fire. Fire department is on scene using an attack strategy to extinguish the fire. Crews are reporting the fire has been extinguished and was contained to a “small burn pile” in the corner of the garage.

Grand Junction, CO โ At approximately 3:03 p.m., the Grand Junction Fire Department, in collaboration with the Clifton Fire Protection District, responded to a reported garage fire on the 400 block of Meadow Road. Upon arrival, firefighters promptly located a small fire contained within the garage. The flames were swiftly extinguished, preventing further damage to the property. The cause of the fire is believed to be improperly disposed of embers from a fireplace. Fortunately, there were no injuries associated with the incident.
This incident serves as a reminder to properly dispose of fireplace embers by allowing them to cool completely and placing them in a metal container with a tight-fitting lid, stored away from flammable materials.
