Update: Felony Menacing, Walmart / Ice Rink, Area of Rimrock & 25 Rd

Felony menacing with a female suspect pulling a knife on staff at Rimrock Walmart when confronted about shoplifting. Suspect fled from Walmart, down the train tracks to the ice rink on 25 Road. Female hid in the bathroom at the ice rink before fleeing out the back door where police held her at gunpoint and took her safely into custody.

Grand Junction Police officers responded to a report of a felony menacing at Rimrock Walmart located at 2545 Rimrock Avenue on 01/23/25, at approximately 4:25 p.m. 911 dispatchers received reports that a female brandished a knife and threatened employees when she was contacted by the storeโ€™s asset protection team for shoplifting. The female fled on foot and officers contacted her a short time later in the 2500 block of Riverside Parkway. The female, identified as Molly Traywick (age 31), was taken into custody without incident and arrested on outstanding warrants, Felony Menacing and Attempted Shoplifting.

This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no additional information available at this time.
