From the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:
In the early hours of January 27, 2025, Deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office located a vehicle with a history of eluding law enforcement. Deputies attempted to make contact, and not surprisingly, the driver and vehicle fled once again. Deputies proceeded to surround the neighborhoods near 31 Road between E 1/2 and F Roads and discovered the vehicle abandoned in front of an address in the 3000 block of Cedar Drive.
A short time later, Deputies observed a vehicle driving in the neighborhood with no headlights. Deputies completed a traffic stop, and the female driver provided a false name and could not correctly identify the name of the vehicleโs registered owner. Deputies responded to the address where the suspect claimed her family lived and said she had borrowed the vehicle. The resident of that address advised that his vehicle must have been stolen, and no one had permission to drive it. It was discovered later the suspect had entered the home on Cedar Drive through an unlocked back door and stolen items from inside before driving off in the vehicle.
That female was immediately detained and correctly identified as 24-year-old Bridgett Fawcett. Fawcett also had an active arrest warrant.
Bridgett Fawcett is currently being held in the Mesa County Detention Facility on a cash-only bond of $11,250. She is facing multiple charges of Eluding, Auto Theft, Burglary, and several other traffic-related charges.
