On March 13, 2022, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of a shooting on the 2700 block of B ½ Road. Officers arrived at a residence and discovered shots had been fired into the home. There were no injuries sustained in this 2022 incident. After thorough investigation, an arrest warrant was written and issued for the suspect, Daniel Fawcett (age 22).
On January 30, 2025, at approximately 5:15 p.m., 911 dispatchers with the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center received a call that an individual with an active felony warrant was residing on the 600 block of South Avenue. Officers contacted the individual, identified as Daniel Fawcett, and took him into custody without incident. Fawcett was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility and booked in on the charges of Attempted Murder in the 1st Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Murder in the 1st Degree, and Illegal Discharge of a Firearm.
This case has been turned over to the 21st Judicial District Attorney’s Office and there is no further information available.
