CLIFTON, CO – On Feburary 4, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Deputies with the Mesa County Sheriffโ€™s Office responded to reports of a male and female, both wearing masks, threatening a resident with a bat and a gun on the 500 block of Autumn Breeze Drive in Clifton, Colorado.

The subjects left the address but threatened the resident they would return. Two Mesa County Sheriff’s Deputies identified the suspectsโ€™ car traveling on 32 ยฝ Road and began following, at which time the suspect vehicle sped up. Deputies activated their lights and sirens but the vehicle did not stop and a pursuit began. In an attempt to stop the suspect vehicle, a Mesa County Deputy performed the Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) Maneuver on the car near the intersection of Perkins Drive and Perkins Court. The PIT maneuver successfully disabled and stopped the vehicle, however both suspects attempted to flee.

The male suspect was quickly taken into custody while the female suspect was observed with a firearm in hand as she attempted to flee from the scene. Deputies pursued the female suspect on foot and placed her into custody a short distance later.

A search of the suspects and their car resulted in the recovery of Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), methamphetamine, and two loaded handguns, one of which was reported as stolen.
