Severe vehicle accident at mile marker 43 westbound on I-70 near Palisade. At least 6 people are injured, 5 people with head injuries, and at least one person ejected and missing a limb. CPR is in progress on one individual.
Update: 12:52 p.m.: One fatality is reported and 5 patients have been transported to the hospital. Eastbound I-70 traffic is now open, with westbound traffic remaining closed / detoured.
