Vehicle vs bicycle near Bookcliff Avenue and North 12th Street. CPR is in progress on a 65 year old male bicycle rider. The male was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital. Police are in contact with the driver and will have southbound lanes of N 12th Street closed while they investigate.

The Grand Junction Police Department responded to a vehicle versus bicycle crash at 2140 N 12th Street on February 19, 2025, at approximately 9:55 a.m. A bicyclist entered the roadway and was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on N 12th Street.
Life saving measures were performed by local area medical personnel until emergency personnel from the Grand Junction Fire Department arrived on scene. The bicyclist was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. The Mesa County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased once next of kin has been notified.
