
From the Grand Junction Police Department:
The Grand Junction Police Department received a report of child abuse at a business located in the 500 block of 25 ½ Road.
On March 20, 2025, officers and detectives with the Grand Junction Police Department began investigating allegations that a staff member at the business had engaged in conduct that was consistent with physical abuse.
Following a thorough investigation, detectives found probable cause to arrest the suspect. A warrant was issued for Sierrah Cordova (age 21).

On March 28, 2025, law enforcement contacted Cordova, took her into custody, and transported her to the Mesa County Detention Facility, where she was booked on the following charges:
- Child Abuse – Knowing/Recklessly – No Injury
- Child Abuse – Knowing/Recklessly – Injury
- Assault in the 2nd Degree – Intent to Cause Bodily Injury by Strangulation
The Grand Junction Police Department believes there is no ongoing danger to the community. This incident remains under investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
