Vehicle vs pedestrian accident at the intersection of Patterson Road and 28 1/4 Road. Fire Station 2 is located at that same intersection, and first responders were able to assist immediately.
Update 4:35 p.m.: The Mesa County Coroner is investigating the crash scene.

The Grand Junction Police Department responded to a vehicle vs wheelchair crash at the intersection of Patterson Road and Rio Grande Drive, at approximately 2:55 p.m. on March 28, 2025.
A truck turning eastbound onto Patterson Road struck a person in a wheelchair who was crossing the roadway at Rio Grande Drive. The person in the wheelchair was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
All lanes of Patterson Road between 28 Road and 28 1/4 Road will remain closed for some time while law enforcement investigates this crash. There is no additional information available at this time.
