Shooting in the area of Garden Village Apartments near Belford Avenue and 28 Road. Reports of a male suspect in a red Charger had fired gun and fled the area. No injuries are currently reported. Police have a red Charger at a high risk traffic stop at Sparn Street and Pinyon Avenue. Police noticed another red Charger on Orchard Avenue and are also stopping that vehicle at 29 Road and Pinyon.

Update 8:40 p.m.: Police are reporting its possible the shooter actually fled area in a white SUV. Suspect in red Charger is still an involved party.

Update: 8:50 p.m.: There was possibly a separate fight / verbal incident occurring at the same time and location as the shooting call.

On April 14, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of a shot fired in the 2600 block of Belford Avenue, near the Garden Village Apartments.

Preliminary investigation revealed that an argument occurred between individuals, during which a shot was fired into the air. The involved individuals fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

Based on information gathered at the scene, officers conducted multiple traffic stops on vehicles leaving the area in an effort to identify and locate those involved.

At this time, there have been no arrests, and no injuries reported. This is believed to be an isolated incident and remains under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
