GRAND JUNCTION, CO – On April 17, 2025, Deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office received a report of child abuse that occurred at a childcare center on the 3000 block of Patterson Road.
The report detailed abuse perpetrated by one employee of the childcare center, identified as Ashlee Davis (33), of Grand Junction, CO. Through a thorough investigation, Deputies identified evidence supporting the abuse report and determined that two other individuals within the childcare facility failed to report the abuse. Those suspects have been identified as Jennifer Bertoch (54) and Dana Bocconcelli (43), both of Grand Junction, CO.

Ashlee Davis was arrested on April 18, 2025, by Mesa County Sheriff’s Deputies and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charge:
- Child Abuse Knowingly or Recklessly without Injury, Misdemeanor 2

Jennifer Bertoch was arrested on April 19, 2025, by Mesa County Sheriff’s Deputies and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Child Abuse Knowingly or Recklessly without Injury, Misdemeanor 2
- Complicity, Misdemeanor 2
- Duty to Report Child Abuse, Misdemeanor

Dana Bocconcelli (43) was also arrested on April 19, 2025, by Mesa County Sheriff’s Deputies and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Child Abuse Knowingly or Recklessly without Injury, Misdemeanor 2
- Complicity, Misdemeanor 2
- Duty to Report Child Abuse, Misdemeanor
The case has been referred to the 21st Judicial District District Attorney’s Office. No further information is available at this time.
