In less than six hours, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department made three separate DUI arrests between April 24 and April 25, 2025.
The first incident occurred on April 24 at approximately 11:25 p.m., when officers stopped a speeding vehicle that also failed to stop at a stop sign near N 23rd Street and Elm Avenue. The driver, identified as Cody Neal, 37, showed signs of intoxication, and officers observed numerous empty alcohol containers in the vehicle. Neal was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on charges of DUI, Reckless Driving, No Insurance in Possession, and Open Container in a Motor Vehicle.
At approximately 3:00 a.m. on April 25, officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 500 block of 28 ยฝ Road. A truck had driven through a backyard fence and become stuck on a hillside. Officers located presumptive positive fentanyl in the vehicle. No one was injured. The driver, Emilio Suazo, 28, was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on charges of DUI, Possession of Schedule I/II Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Reckless Driving.
Shortly afterward, at approximately 4:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to a hit-and-run crash in the 2700 block of B ยฝ Road. Responding officers found a damaged yard, downed power pole, and significant property damage. The suspectโs vehicle was located several hundred feet away, parked in a nearby driveway. The driver, Kyce Santiago, 20, was contacted at the residence and arrested. Santiago was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on charges of DUI, DUI-per se, Driving Under Restraint, Leaving the Scene After Striking Unattended Property, Careless Driving, Failure to Notify Police of an Accident, and Illegal Possession/Consumption of Alcohol Under 21.

All three incidents remain under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
