
From the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:
On May 8, 2025, Deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office arrested Daniel Rosales (36) of Whitewater, Colorado, on the following charges:
- Attempted Murder in the First Degree, Felony 2
- Assault – Second Degree with Injury – Deadly Weapon, Felony 4
- Assault Second Degree with Intent to Cause Bodily Injury by Strangulation, Felony 4
- Menacing – Real/Simulated Weapon, Felony 5
- Assault in the Third Degree, Misdemeanor 1
- Child Abuse Knowingly or Recklessly without Injury, Misdemeanor 2
- Theft – $1,000-$2,000 – All Other, Misdemeanor 1

On May 7, 2025, Deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an assault on the 300 block of Redlands Road in Grand Junction, Colorado. Through their investigation, Deputies learned the assault occurred on Sunday, May 4, 2025, while the victim was on the property with permission from the homeowner.
The victim reported Rosales came out of the home with a knife in hand and attempted to strangle and stab him. The victim received injuries to his hand and head during his attempt to defend himself from the attack.
A thorough investigation led Deputies to author an arrest warrant for Rosales for the above charges. On May 8, 2025, Rosales was located at a residence in Grand Junction, Colorado, and taken into custody without incident.
