Two Arrested for Child Abuse

In January 2025, the Grand Junction Police Department received reports of potential child abuse in the central quadrant of Grand Junction. After a thorough investigation, detectives established probable cause to arrest the suspects. Arrest warrants were subsequently issued for Dustin Devinny, 33, and Xena Cousins, 29.

On May 8, 2025, law enforcement contacted Devinny and Cousins without incident.

Dustin Devinny (33) was arrested and remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following and other related charges:

  • Child Abuse Causes Serious Bodily Injury
  • Sexual Assault on a Child
  • Sexual Assault on a Child Position of Trust
  • False Imprisonment
  • Child Abuse
  • 3rd Degree Assault

Xena Cousins (29) was arrested and remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Child Abuse Causes Serious Bodily Injury
  • False Imprisonment
  • 3rd Degree Assault
  • Child Abuse

The Grand Junction Police Department believes this is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the community. This incident remains under investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
