Vehicle vs motorcycle accident at North Avenue and North 5th Street. Rider is reported as not conscious, not breathing, CPR is in progress. Traffic on westbound North Avenue is blocked by accident.

First responders with the GJPD and Grand Junction Fire Department are on scene at North Avenue and N 5th Street for a fatal motorcycle vs vehicle crash.
EMTs attempted life saving measures but the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on scene. The Mesa County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after appropriate notifications have been made.
North Avenue between N 4th Street and N 7th Street will remain closed for a couple of hours as officers investigate the crash. Please find a different route of travel.
Speed is being looked at as a factor in this crash.
