Suspect Arrested in Assault and Kidnapping Case

On May 19, 2025, dispatchers at the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center received a report of a possible assault and kidnapping. Officers from the Grand Junction Police Department responded to the 400 block of Larrys Meadow Drive.

An adult female had fled to a neighbor’s residence and claimed someone was after her. Officers quickly determined she had been involved in a dispute at a nearby residence where she was physically assaulted and held against her will.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence of the incident. The Grand Junction Police Department SWAT team assisted in executing the warrant. After attempts to contact individuals inside, the house was found to be unoccupied.

The suspect, identified as Jonah Larson, age 29, was identified, and an arrest warrant was issued.

On May 20, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office located Larson on the 3000 block of Thrush Drive and arrested him without incident. He was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility and booked on the following charges:

  • 2nd Degree Kidnapping
  • Robbery
  • False Imprisonment
  • Attempted 1st Degree Assault
  • Menacing
  • Reckless Endangerment
  • Criminal Invasion of Privacy
  • Criminal Mischief
  • 3rd Degree Assault
