
Felony menacing involving a male suspect threatening another male with a handgun near Grand Avenue and North 6th Street. The suspect is known to the victim and also to police. Suspect has barricaded himself in his basement apartment at the residence and is refusing to come out.
Update: The suspect was taken into police custody without further incident.

On May 23, 2025, at approximately 2:45 p.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of felony menacing in the 600 block of Grand Avenue.
Dispatchers with the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center received a 911 call reporting that a resident of an apartment complex in the 600 block of Grand Avenue had approached several individuals sitting outside and pointed a firearm at them. Officers learned that a verbal dispute had occurred before the suspect brandished the weapon and retreated into his apartment.
Officers arrived on scene shortly after and contacted the suspect, who exited the apartment and was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect, Aaron Alloway (29), was arrested and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility, where he was booked on a charge of felony menacing.
This is believed to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. No additional information is available at this time.
