Moped Accident, Cardiac Arrest, North Ave & 28 Rd

Male found in the roadway on North Avenue laying next to a moped / scooter in cardiac arrest. Accident happened in front of Los Jibertos. Police arriving on scene took over CPR. Patient is a 35-year-old male. North Avenue is closed in the area.

From the Grand Junction Police Department:

On May 31, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of a male found in the roadway near a moped in the 2800 block of North Avenue.

Through the course of the investigation, officers determined that the driver of the moped had been traveling eastbound on North Avenue near 28 Road when the moped struck and crossed the median before crashing. Despite lifesaving efforts, the male sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Alcohol is being investigated as a possible contributing factor in this incident.

The Mesa County Coronerโ€™s Office will release the identity of the deceased once proper notifications have been made.

This crash remains under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
