Vehicle versus scooter in the area of North Avenue and 28 1/4 Road. Rider is a 60-year-old male, conscious and breathing with compound fractures to the hands. The male was transported to the hospital with serious bodily injury. Police will be on scene investigating and photographing the scene due to the extent of injuries.

On June 1, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a moped vs vehicle crash at the intersection of North Avenue and 28 ยผ Road.
Through the initial investigation, officers determined that the moped was traveling westbound on North Avenue when it ran a red light and collided with a truck that was headed south on 28 ยผ Road.
The moped driver sustained suspected life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital by the Grand Junction Fire Department.
Traffic in the area was impacted for a couple of hours as officers investigated the crash.
