GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Orchard Mesa Pool is set to reopen to the public on Saturday, June 21, 2025, after a much-needed boiler replacement. The new boiler, installed earlier this week, has restored water temperatures to safe and comfortable levels, just in time for summer. Normal operating hours of 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. will resume.

The pool had been closed since late March when the old boiler was deemed unrepairable. Despite initial delays in delivery, with projected reopening dates shifting from late April to June 16, the City met the final timeline. ‘We appreciate the patience of our patrons as we worked through these challenges,’ said Parks and Recreation Director Ken Sherbenou. ‘With summer in full swing, we’re thrilled to have this facility back in operation.’

During the closure, swim lessons were relocated to Lincoln Park, where current sessions will continue. The next session at Orchard Mesa Pool is scheduled for July 8. Located at 2736 Unaweep Ave., the pool, built in 1983, is operated by the City of Grand Junction on land owned by School District 51.
