Large brush fire reported near Purple Ash Cir & Autumn Breeze Dr in Clifton. This is south west of E 1/2 Road and 32 1/2 Road. Several large trees and brush are on fire threatening multiple homes. Sheriff on scene has evacuated 3 homes on Purple Ash Circle and Clifton brush crews have requested additional fire engines from Grand Junction.

Update 8:00 p.m.: Redcross has been contacted for up to 4 families that might be displaced. Crews appear to have the house fires out, unknown extent of damage, now focusing on vehicle fires on south east side of the fire. Some responders have switched to wildland fire gear suggesting primary focus is now extinguishing brush fire.
