Possible Shooting, I-70B & 32 Rd Clifton

Sheriff deputies are in the area of I-70 Business Loop and 32 Road in Clifton on a possible shooting. A caller reported a suspect driving a green sports car fired a handgun in their direction, shattering a window. Deputies are investigating.

GRAND JUNCTION, CO – On June 29, 2025, at approximately 7:50 p.m., Deputies with the Mesa County Sheriffโ€™s Office responded to multiple calls of a vehicle being shot at. The victim reported they were driving eastbound on I70B when a second driver fired two rounds into the victimโ€™s vehicle. The victim was not struck, but did sustain injuries from shards of glass.

Deputies quickly ascertained a description of the suspect vehicle from the victim and witnesses. Additionally, Deputies determined the suspect vehicleโ€™s direction of travel and license plate from nearby cameras. With this information, Deputies located the vehicle near the 2000 block of Linda Lane in Grand Junction and performed a high risk stop. Deputies placed the driver, Jeremy Hamm (46) of Grand Junction, into custody without further incident. 

Upon searching the vehicle, Deputies recovered a high power airsoft pistol loaded with large bb pellets. Hamm is being held at the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Felony Menacing, Felony 5
  • Criminal Mischief, Felony 6
  • Assault in the Third Degree, Misdemeanor 1
  • Throwing Missiles at Vehicles, Civil Infraction
  • Reckless Endangerment, Misdemeanor 2

There is no outstanding threat to the community at this time.
