Vehicle Fire Erupts in Downtown Grand Junction

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — A significant vehicle fire broke out near the intersection of South Avenue and South 6th Street at 3:36 p.m., prompting a rapid response from the Grand Junction Fire Department. Upon arrival, firefighters found multiple vehicles and nearby sheds engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke visible across the downtown area.

Crews battled the blaze under extreme heat, with temperatures soaring to 100 degrees, successfully preventing the fire from spreading to other nearby vehicles. They applied firefighting foam to structures reported to contain propane and oxygen bottles. One individual was evaluated at the scene, though details on their condition were not disclosed.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The Grand Junction Police Department assisted with scene safety and traffic control.
