On July 8, the Board of Mesa County Commissioners approved two significant resolutions during a public hearing, amending the Mesa County Fiscal Year 2025 Budget and adjusting the authorized staffing levels. The budget amendments account for new revenues and appropriations based on information not anticipated in the initial 2025 budget adoption, as presented by Budget Manager Diane Dziewatkoski.

Staffing changes include a reorganization of the Behavioral Health Department, with five full-time employees transitioning to the Sheriff’s Office Co-Responders, one to the District Attorney’s Office, three positions being dissolved, and two remaining positions moved under Administration. Additionally, two new full-time roles were created: a safety coordinator at the Regional Transportation Planning Office and an accounting administrator for the Public Trustee.
