Man Arrested for Stabbing in Grand Junction

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – On July 16, 2025, at around 5:50 p.m., Grand Junction Police Department officers responded to a stabbing incident at St. Mary’s Hospital on 2635 N 7th Street. A male victim had arrived at the hospital with multiple stab wounds following a physical altercation near N 7th Street and Center Avenue.

The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Daniel Rodden, who was known to the victim, allegedly stabbed the man during a dispute before fleeing on foot. The victim walked to the hospital for treatment. Rodden was later apprehended near 28 ¾ Road and North Avenue without incident and booked into Mesa County Detention Facility on charges of Assault in the First Degree.

Police believe this was an isolated incident and have released no further details at this time.

This is the second major stabbing this month in Mesa County.
