GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — On July 18, 2025, at around 4:15 p.m., Grand Junction Police Department officers responded to a reported physical altercation near N 7th Street and Bunting Avenue. According to the investigation, an adult male was walking southbound when a group of juveniles approached, verbally harassed, and then physically assaulted him. When the man attempted to defend himself, one juvenile threatened to brandish a firearm before the group fled on foot.
Officers quickly located and detained the suspects. Two 15-year-olds were charged, one with Third Degree Assault and Felony Menacing, and the other with Third Degree Assault, Felony Menacing, and Obstruction. Both were transported to the Division of Youth Services. The victim sustained minor injuries.
Due to the ages of those involved, identities are withheld under the Colorado Open Records Act. Police state this is an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community. The investigation remains active, and no further details are available at this time.
