
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — A 37-year-old man, Eric Valdez, was arrested on July 21, 2025, following a harassment incident late on July 20 in the 2900 block of Bookcliff Avenue. According to the Grand Junction Police Department, Valdez allegedly threw a rock through a woman’s home window and made threats to damage additional property before fleeing the scene.
On the afternoon of July 21, officers located Valdez at a residence on the 1300 block of White Avenue. When he initially refused to comply and barricaded himself inside, the SWAT Team was deployed, and a shelter-in-place order was issued for nearby residents. Valdez eventually surrendered without further incident.
He was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on charges of Harassment, Domestic Violence, and Criminal Mischief, with additional charges pending. Police emphasized the seriousness of domestic violence, urging anyone in danger to call 911 immediately. Authorities believe this to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community.
