GRAND JUNCTION, CO – In the early hours of the morning, at approximately 3:53 a.m., the Grand Junction Fire Department (GJFD) responded to a reported structure fire at the Wendy’s restaurant located at 750 ½ Horizon Drive. The alert came from a caller at the nearby Clarion Inn, who noticed flames visible through a window of the fast-food establishment.
Firefighters arrived to find the building filled with smoke. Upon entering through the main door, they discovered a small fire in the kitchen area, which was swiftly extinguished. Ventilation fans were then used to clear the smoke from the premises. Fortunately, the building was unoccupied at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported.
The Grand Junction Police Department provided support by ensuring scene safety and managing traffic control. The cause and origin of the fire are currently under investigation.
