
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — On September 4, 2025, at around 4:50 a.m., officers from the Grand Junction Police Department encountered two individuals trespassing after hours in the 2800 block of North Avenue. While patrolling near the Arc Thrift Store at 2830 North Avenue, officers noticed a parked vehicle and approached the individuals. One of them fled the scene at high speed but was quickly apprehended in the 1900 block of North Avenue.
The suspect, later identified as 50-year-old Shariden Clare, initially provided false information to officers. During the investigation, authorities discovered approximately 27 grams of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm inside the vehicle. Clare, who is prohibited from possessing a firearm, was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on multiple charges, including possession of a firearm, possession with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, false reporting, driving with a revoked license, and third-degree criminal trespass.
Police have stated that this is an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public. The Grand Junction Police Department urges community members to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
