
GRAND JUNCTION, CO – A tragic vehicle versus motorcycle crash on June 14, 2025, near the intersection of N 7th Street and Bunting Avenue has resulted in the death of the motorcyclist and the arrest of the SUV driver. According to the Grand Junction Police Department, the SUV, driven by 29-year-old Kalynn Settle, crossed into the northbound lane and collided with the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and succumbed to them on July 4, 2025.
Following an extensive investigation, a warrant was issued for Settleโs arrest on multiple charges, including Vehicular Homicide, Careless Driving Causing Death, DUI, and various drug-related offenses, as well as No Proof of Insurance. Settle turned herself in to the Mesa County Detention Facility on September 13, 2025.
