
Grand Junction, CO – On September 23, 2025, at around 11:50 a.m., officers from the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a welfare check in the 400 block of 28 1/2 Road after a report of an individual missing work for several days. Upon arrival, officers discovered two unresponsive individuals inside the residence. A female was found deceased with an apparent gunshot wound, and a male was found deceased with a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths, and the incident is currently considered isolated with no ongoing threat to the public. The Mesa County Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death and release the identities of the deceased after notifying next of kin. The investigation continues as authorities interview witnesses and gather evidence.
The Grand Junction Police Department has requested that the community respect the privacy of the family during this difficult time and avoid the area while the investigation is ongoing. No further details are available at this time.
