At about 8:31 PM, a male driver reports his vehicle went over the edge of a switchback on Highway 139 at mile marker 33. His wife and dog are inside the vehicle, which is estimated 50–60 feet below the roadway. The driver is described as older (approximately 75) and appears confused; the original reporting party was stopped by the driver. State Patrol trooper is en route; Garfield County has been advised.
Lower Valley Fire is on scene reporting the vehicle is resting on its side at a low angle. EMS is assisting the female occupant in the vehicle who is reporting difficulty breathing. CareFlight is dispatched.
