CLIFTON, Colo. — The Mesa County Coroner’s Office on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, identified the two people killed in the Oct. 31 shooting on the 400 block of Cottonwood Lake Drive as Victor Reyes, Jr., 18, and Josiah Rosales, 20. Both were residents of Grand Junction.
According to the coroner, autopsies have been completed. Each victim died of multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death for both is homicide. The coroner noted the pair were involved in an altercation in a residential area on Cottonwood Lake Drive late on Oct. 31 and were pronounced dead shortly after the incident.
Mesa County Sheriff’s Office investigators say the case remains an active double-homicide investigation. Because many of the individuals involved are juveniles, state law limits what can be released about witnesses or persons of interest. Detectives continue to seek videos and witness accounts from the neighborhood and from anyone who attended the Halloween party at the residence.
