
CLIFTON, Colo. — Emergency crews responded to a vehicle–pedestrian crash just north of the I-70 Business Loop and 32 Road intersection in Clifton. According to initial reports, a man believed to be in his 30s 60 was crossing the street in a poorly lit area, roughly 100 feet north of the marked crosswalks, when a silver Subaru traveling on I-70 Business Loop struck him.
Law enforcement arrived quickly and began CPR, and EMS continued lifesaving efforts upon arrival. The man died from his injuries at the scene.
Colorado State Patrol is leading the investigation. Early indications are that neither speed nor alcohol are suspected at this time, though final determinations will come from the state patrol’s findings. The Mesa County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity once next of kin have been notified.
