Coroner Identifies Pedestrian Killed in Clifton Crash

CLIFTON, Colo. — The Mesa County Coroner’s Office has identified the man struck and killed by a vehicle near the intersection of I-70 Business Loop and 32 Road on Thursday night as Felix Saldana-Quiroz, 60, a Mesa County resident.

According to the coroner, the collision happened the evening of Nov. 13, 2025 on the roadway at I-70 Business Loop & 32 Road. Saldana-Quiroz was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy has been completed; the coroner says he died from injuries sustained in the incident, and the manner of death is accident.

As previously reported, initial information indicated the pedestrian was crossing in a poorly lit area near the intersection when he was struck by a silver Subaru traveling on I-70 Business Loop. Officers began CPR, which was continued by EMS, but Saldana-Quiroz did not survive.

The Colorado State Patrol is leading the investigation. Early indications were that neither speed nor alcohol were suspected, though final determinations will come from the state patrol’s findings.
