Fire and EMS units responded around 11:35 p.m. to the Division of Youth Services at 360 28 Road for fire alarms and reports of smoke inside the administration section of the building.
Radio traffic indicated smoke and alarms with no flames seen. Crews reported the youth housing was not affected by the incident and were closely monitoring for safety. Most engines have cleared off the call and returned to their stations while remaining engines assist DYS staff in locating the source of the smoke. Crews are also checking the roof and HVAC units.
Update: Fire crews located a faulty heating unit and have disabled it.
