A vehicle crashed into a building west of North 12th Street on Patterson Road.
A bystander initially reported an approximately 60-year-old male with a faint pulse, and later transmissions stated the patient was unresponsive and not breathing. Officers and fire personnel began CPR on scene.
Update: Responders have confirmed this is a fatal accident.
Update 11:30 a.m.: In a press release, police said a medical emergency may have led to the crash.
Update Dec. 11, 2025: The Mesa County Coroner’s Office identified the driver as Russell Denbleyker, a 77-year-old Grand Junction man. According to the Coroner, Denbleyker was the restrained driver of a vehicle that left the roadway and crashed near 2687 Patterson Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and an autopsy found his death was related to injuries he received in the incident.
