A possible trespass was reported about 6:40 p.m. at the Downtown Suites on White Avenue. Grand Junction Police units responded after a reporting party said someone was knocking on a front door and the sliding glass door of a second-story balcony at the complex.
Radio traffic indicated officers had eyes on a female on a balcony who was jumping between balconies, appeared aware she was subject to arrest, and attempted to flee but returned inside. Dispatch instructed the reporting party to stay inside with doors locked. Officers announced plans to make entry through the reported unit and to consider accessing an adjacent west unit by way of the balconies. Transmissions also referenced a prior break-in incident involving a neighbor in the adjacent unit and included concern the situation could involve a firearm.
Officers got the suspect to eventually cooperate and took her safely into custody. No injuries were reported.
